[I'm sure Shinnosuke has worn a suit jacket with elbow patches in it before. Therefore it was only a matter of time before he became a professor, of sorts. It's supposed to be a reward for all his hard work catching criminals that he gets to go stand in a university lecture hall and just talk about the career he loves! But it sounds more terrifying than being faced with a hardened criminal, honestly.

Teenagers are so judgemental and they're all looking at him.]

[kiyong was here for extra credit purposes since this wasn't his sort of thing. while he wasn't sure what his future career would be, it definitely was not this. yet somehow, life worked in funny ways.

he had expected some sort of veteran officer as old as his father and he wasn't the only one. the whispers and squeals he heard when the opposite entered is proof of that. the guy was good looking and familiar. kiyong swore he never met the guy before so he doesn't understand why he had this feeling. then it hit him like a ton of bricks when he got a text from gou. this guy was shin-niisan.

he immediately texted gou back as he sucked on a cherry lollipop]

[Oh god. There are teenagers gossiping about him. Loudly. Behind their hands, as though they think that's going to help keep things quiet. THERE ARE TEENAGE GIRLS WHO FIND HIM ATTRACTIVE, AND THIS IS SO EMBARRASSING SHIN WANTS TO DIE.

He just. He needs a distraction. Shinnosuke shuffles his papers on the desk, looking around the room at the array of other students.

There is a young man sucking a lollipop. In class. On his phone, which isn't unusual because half the class are. The lollipop is unique though.

School has sure changed since he went to it... Oh why does he sound so old in his own mind? He clears his throat.]

My name is Detective Tomari Shinnosuke. I'm not a professor, so you don't need to call me one. I'd just appreciate a bit of your time so I can talk to you about a career in the police force. [Shinnosuke clears his throat. His words come out a lot less shaky now:] Because I find it incredibly rewarding, protecting those who can't protect themselves. And I'd do anything to seek out people who want to do the same, and help them achieve their dreams.

[definitely him. confirmed.

gou even asked for a picture and kiyong made sure to do it when shinnosuke wasn't looking plus shutter on his phone was off. the text he got back was what he expected; laughing emotes and words]

He is such a meanie.

[he tells himself. kiyong can see that shinnosuke was definitely someone gou would pick on and yet can handle gou. hearing him speak, the guy was definitely proud to be an officer and it was cute]

[Yeah, you can't go wrong when the name is given to you upfront like that. Kiyong has a massive advantage, considering Gou has mentioned Shinnosuke to him. But Gou is pretty damn secretive to Shinnosuke about his friends. Joking like, "you and neechan are my only friends!"

He never realises how much Shinnosuke actually worries about him.]

I know most of you aren't interested in this type of work, and that's fine. It's a tough job and it isn't for everyone. It can be scary, too. But you're required to at least pretend to listen, so just don't disturb anyone else from learning something, alright?

[He's just trying to find the right balance between friendly yet authoritative, really. He's just waiting for someone to interject an inappriopriate comment everytime he reaches the end of a sentence.]

[kiyong raises his hand]

Excuse me, Shin-niisan......

[wait. he didn't mean to say that. kiyong quick brings his hand down to cover his mouth. now every pair of eyes in the room were looking at him with questioning looks]

[Shinnosuke just blinks at first. Nobody is looking at him anyway; they've all turned to the young man who has just betrayed some kind of familial relationship to Shinnosuke. Of course Shin doesn't have a younger brother in reality. But there is one person in the world who does call him, "Shin-niisan".

Shinnosuke doesn't know whether to laugh or get mad. He decides on the former, smiling a little.]

How do you know my "little brother"? [Hopefully his tone will make it evident to the young man that Gou isn't really his little brother, though the rest of the class can think so if it helps them stop being curious.] And you are...?

[he knew they weren't related. gou has told him so. the only reason gou called shinnosuke that was originally to tease but in the end, saw him as a real big brother. it was like how he called gou 'hyung' even though they weren't related]

Shin Kiyong and he & I are good friends.

I see. [Shinnosuke would love to get into this a little bit more, but he has a class all watching him expectantly, he realises suddenly, uncomfortably...]

If you would wait around briefly after class, Mr Shin, I'd like to talk to you.

Yes, sir.

[he answers meekly, refusing to look for the remainder of the class. his lollipop was more interesting. yup. god, how he wished gou was here. he would be able to easily divert the attention away from him]

[Well now Shin Kiyong just looks petrified. That's not what Shinnosuke had been aiming for! He tries to shoot a couple of reassuring smiles Kiyong's way, but the boy seems to be steadily avoiding his gaze. He hadn't been reprimanding him!

It feels like an eternity til the class is overand he can try to address what had happened. Shinnosuke steps in the path of the door to catch Kiyong before he can think to sneak out.]

I'm not mad at you. I was just surprised, that's all. Gou never tells me anything! [Shinnosuke's short laugh turns into an amused but perceptive look.] ...But you know about me. He talks to you about me. So you must be a good friend of his. Is that right?

[see, now shinnosuke was making things worse by stopping him rather than let kiyong come to him.

the last couple of students to file stopped and stared causing kiyong to produce an awkward smile with an equally awkward 'see you later'.

but what's this about being mad? the acrobatic was confused]

I'm not mad. I'm not used to that kind of situation. You know, with everyone staring at me. If Hyung was here, he would have definitely diverted everyone away from me and on to something else. Sometimes, himself.

[because gou didn't mind. he liked the attention]

Aa. Hyung and I are really good friends.

[Sorry. Shinnosuke can't leave things alone! Well, except Gou, but Gou has made him suffer months of "NOPE" and disappearances to be left alone. He's a special case.

Just as Kiyong says.]

I'm sorry. I was really shocked. Maybe a little defensive; purposely having someone here to see how badly I messed up on my first day seems like something Gou would do for laughs. If he couldn't make it himself, that is.

[Gou would absolutely hide somewhere in the back row with his camera and cheeky smile. Shinnosuke shakes his head.]

It wasn't fair to bring you to everyone's attention like that. I hope you'll forgive me for it.

...And I wish Gou would tell me things.

[being with gou, even if it was just half a year, kiyong can see that his hyung was that type of person. yet, it hurt him to think that shinnosuke would believe kiyong was like gou just because they were friends and he was here for laughs. he frowns]

I'm not like Hyung. I didn't come here for laughs. I took this course because it would provide extra credit.

[but on the telling things, he can agree]

He is like that. There are things I know he hasn't told me.
